    Mr. Satoshi Taniguchi chairs JAMA AD safety assurance WG since 2018 and was appointed as a lead of SIP-adus safety assurance project supported by Japanese Cabinet Office and SAKURA project supported by Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry since 2019. He is active in UN WP29 activity as an expert in JASIC and in international standard activity as a project leader of ISO 34502.
    Since 2006 he has been employed at Toyota Motor Corporation and is currently the manager of system safety group in AD/ADAS development division.
    He studied control system engineering as an undergraduate and received his Ph. M. in human factor engineering at Osaka university. In 2018 he earned an MBA from Globis Graduate School of Management.

    Matthias A Hein

    Matthias A. Hein (IEEE M’06-SM’06) received his diploma and doctoral degrees with honors from the University of Wuppertal, Germany, in 1987 and 1992, where he worked as a microwave physicist on superconductor applications for mobile and satellite communications. In 1999, he received a British Senior Research Fellowship of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) at the University of Birmingham, U.K. From 1998 until 2001, he headed an interdisciplinary research group of passive microwave electronic devices.
    In 2002, he joined the Technische Universit?t Ilmenau as the Head of the RF and Microwave Research Laboratory; he successfully negotiated the continuation and extension of this position in 2010. In his professional career until today, he has authored and coauthored around 550 publications and provided over 60 invited talks or tutorials at international conferences. He has supervised 40 doctoral projects, 85 Master, around 20 Bachelor projects and 50 student research projects.
    Matthias Hein chaired the German Microwave Conference 2012, the European Microwave Conference 2017, and the Technical Program Committee of the IEEE ICMIM 2018. He served as co-organizer and convener of various other international conferences. He is elected board member of the IEEE Joint German Chapter MTT/AP and of the EurAAP. Since 2003, Matthias Hein is a member of the Expert Panel “Radio Systems” of the Information Technology Society (ITG) in the German Association for Electrical, Electronic + Information Technologies (VDE), which he directed from 2009 until 2017. He acts as a referee for high-ranking scientific journals and funding agencies.
    In 2014, he became spokesman of the Thuringian Center of Innovation in Mobility, where his research focus is on intelligent automotive wireless sensor and communication systems, over-the-air testing of automotive wireless systems, and virtual test drives. Further research activities deal with antenna engineering, antenna measurement technology, microwave engineering, and microwave circuit technologies. The research performed under his supervision has been attracting significant public and private funding continuously for more than 16 years.

    Frank Gruson is Head of Advanced Engineering Radar at ADC Automotive Distance Control Systems GmbH (a Continental Company) in Lindau/Germany. Since 2007 he has served Continental in numerous positions in the area of RF development, systems engineering (Radar, Camera, Lidar). Frank is strongly engaged in the worldwide harmonization of frequency spectrum for automotive radar sensors, both on European level (ETSI) and on international level. Frank contributed to several sucessfull funded research projects on EU and BMBF level, such as KOKON, RoCC, MOSARIM, SafeMove and IMIKO.
    Prior to joining Continental, Frank was active in semiconductor technology, RF chipset design, application engineering and marketing in the semiconductor business and in the Research Center of the Daimler AG in Ulm. Frank received his masters degree in Physics from the University of Ulm in 1994 and his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2010.

    Biagio Ciuffo

    Biagio Ciuffo received the Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering from the Department of Transportation Engineering of the University of Napoli Federico II in 2008. Then he held a three-year Post-Doctoral position at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC), Ispra, Italy, working at the sustainability assessment of traffic and transport related measures and policies. He is now an Official of the European Commission working for the Directorate for Energy, Transport, and Climate of the JRC. In the past years he has led different projects concerning the analysis of the environmental and economic impacts of different transport policies. He is currently leading the JRC project focusing on the implications of connected and automated vehicles on transport efficiency, emissions and society.
    Biagio Ciuffo has published more than 100 scientific reports and papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings in transportation engineering. Among the others, he is one of the main authors of the JRC Report on the Future of Road Transport which analyses the wise implications of a connected, automated, low-carbon and shared mobility. He is also Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and serves as reviewer for the most important journals in the transportation field.
    For his research activities on the calibration of traffic simulation models he was awarded with the 2012 Greenshields Prize and with the 2020 and 2013 Prize of the SimSub Committee all from the Transportation Research Board of the US National Academy of Science.

    Gil Amid

    A former Intel Vice President, Gil Amid has over 30 years of experience in the verification world, from system level H/W and S/W verification, to VLSI/microprocessors validation and verification. Today, he is serving as Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer at Foretellix, which he also co-founded. Foretellix is developing a Scenario Based Coverage Driven Verification Environment for ADS ( Automated Driving Systems).
    As part of his role he is actively involved in various autonomous vehicles safety standardization and regulation setting activities. Gil is the standardization project leader for OpenSCENARIO 2.0 with ASAM, where he is also a member of ASAM’s technical steering committee. As a special advisor to SAFE (Secure America’s Future Energy) AV initiative, Gil is representing SAFE in the UNECE/GRVA and its sub work groups like VMAD and FRAV.
    Gil is a contributing member and reviewer of various standardization groups such as ISO 21448/SOTIF, ISO 3450{1,2,3,4}/Test Scenarios standards, SAE On Road Automated Driving (ORAD) task forces, IEEE P2846, UL4600 and more.
    Gil has a B.Sc. Computer Engineering Degree from the Technion in Israel, and an M.A. Law Studies Degree from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.

    Professor Hideo Inoue joined Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT) in 2016. He is working to create an advanced vehicle technologies into CASE era as a chair of Department of Vehicle System Engineering. One of his focus is to establish a Validation Platform of Automated Driving systems and ADAS using virtual simulation of verified sensor models. He is now a project leader of DIVPTM (Driving Intelligence Validation Platform) consortium of one of the 2nd phase programs of SIP-adus from 2018 till 2020. His additional academic experiences are, “Visiting Professor, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) from 2014 to Present”, and “Project Manager, Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency’s S-innovation Project “Autonomous Driving System to Enhance Safer and Secured Traffic Society for Elderly Drivers” to enhance automotive safety performance from 2011 to Present.
    He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Waseda University in 1978. He had been working for Toyota Motor Corporation from 1978 till 2016 as an engineer of vehicle control systems like of vehicle dynamics, active safety, ADAS and made a lot of effort to diffuse them to the market, such as, VSC (ESC), PCS (Pre-Collision Safety system). Since 2004 he was responsible for huge integrated vehicle systems of ADAS, integrated safety, energy management, ITS, etc. as an General Manager in Integrate System Engineering Division. He received some awards, “The US Government Award for Special Appreciation for contributions to the development and popularization of safety technology, awarded by the National Highway in ESV 2009“.
