Safety Assurance
安全性保障の実現に向けて仮想環境は不可欠な技術であり、仮想環境に対する要求や妥当性検証の方法について国際的な協調が喫緊の課題である。仮想環境で評価を実施する評価シナリオ及び、各評価シナリオに対してどのような妥当性評価の方法と基準が必要なのか、各国プロジェクトの検討状況について持ち寄り、今後の連携・ハーモナイズの進め方について議論を行う。

    Hideaki Sato is in charge of developing Safety Assurance Process & Method of Automated Driving at Toyota Motor Corporation.
    Since 2018, he has participated in the Automated Driving Safety Evaluation Working Group of JAMA and promoted the construction of safety evaluation processes and methods using a scenario-based approach. He is the chair of the automated driving safety assurance committee of JAMA since 2022/Jan.

    Matthias Hein

    Prof. Dr. Matthias A. Hein received his Diploma in Physics in 1987 and his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1992. He started his academic career at the University of Wuppertal, Germany, with superconductor research for mobile and satellite communications.
    Following a British EPSRC Senior Research Fellowship at the University of Birmingham, he joined the TU Ilmenau in 2002 as head of the RF and Microwave Research Laboratory and stayed in 2010, as head of the RF and Microwave Research Laboratory. His research focus is on intelligent automotive wireless sensor and communication systems, over-the-air testing, and virtual test drives with a focus on antenna and microwave engineering. He is the founder of the automotive antenna facility VISTA – Virtual road simulation and test area. He has been active in the Thuringian Center of Innovation in Mobility at TU Ilmenau from its foundation in 2011 until today as scientist, spokesperson (2014-2021), and Director (since 2021).

    Professor Hideo Inoue joined Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT) in 2016. He is working to create an advanced vehicle technologies into CASE era as a chair of Department of Vehicle System Engineering. One of his focus is to establish a Validation Platform of Automated Driving systems and ADAS using virtual simulation of verified sensor models. He is now a project leader of DIVPTM (Driving Intelligence Validation Platform) consortium of one of the 2nd phase programs of SIP-adus from 2018 till 2020. His additional academic experiences are, “Visiting Professor, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) from 2014 to Present”, and “Project Manager, Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency’s S-innovation Project “Autonomous Driving System to Enhance Safer and Secured Traffic Society for Elderly Drivers” to enhance automotive safety performance from 2011 to Present.

    He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Waseda University in 1978. He had been working for Toyota Motor Corporation from 1978 till 2016 as an engineer of vehicle control systems like of vehicle dynamics, active safety, ADAS and made a lot of effort to diffuse them to the market, such as, VSC (ESC), PCS (Pre-Collision Safety system). Since 2004 he was responsible for huge integrated vehicle systems of ADAS, integrated safety, energy management, ITS, etc. as an General Manager in Integrate System Engineering Division. He received some awards, “The US Government Award for Special Appreciation for contributions to the development and popularization of safety technology, awarded by the National Highway in ESV 2009”.

    Marius Dupuis

    Marius Dupuis holds a diploma in Aerospace Engineering. After an initial engagement in engineering flight simulation, he became co-founder and general manager of VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH and grew the company to a leading provider of environment simulation solutions for ADAS and autonomous driving systems. Marius left VIRES in 2020 and has been working as an independent consultant ever since. During that phase, he founded Sim|Cert and co-founded GEONATIVES.
    Marius is one of the initiators and original authors of the simulation data standards OpenDRIVE, OpenCRG and OpenSCENARIO. He was responsible for transferring these standards to ASAM e.V. in 2017.
    Following these standards and his personal interest in dynamic organizations, Marius joined ASAM e.V. in May 2022 as Chief Executive Officer.

Master thesis (1994) and Ph.D. (1999) at Technical University of Braunschweig, engineer for industrial automation at steel power plants at Salzgitter AG (1999-2002), engineer at German aerospace center (DLR) in Braunschweig in the area of automated driving (2002-2007), 2007-2015 lead of group “Automated Vehicles and Connectivity”, responsibility for technical development of the automated driving vehicles of DLR, project lead for R&D projects in the area of ADS, since 2015 strategic business development manager for institute of transportation systems, DLR, deputy head of department “Automotive”.
    Business development, coordinator and dissemination manager for national and European activities in the field of automated and connected driving as well as intelligent traffic infrastructures. Project lead of the German dissemination project “Transfer Project Exchange (TPX)” as part of the German large scale PEGASUS projects VV Methods, SET Level and further initiatives in the sector of connected and automated driving funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Since 01/2021 acting head of department “Research Strategy” of DLR Institutes of Transportation Systems.
