天野 肇

理事長Mr. Amano joined Toyota Motor Corporation in 1982 and started his career as a factory automation engineer, developing industrial robots and manufacturing operation management systems. Then he expanded his areas covering transportation. He was involved in a variety of projects on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) both in Japan and overseas. He assumed the position of President and CEO of ITS Japan in 2009. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of ITS World Congress and the Secretary-General of ITS Asia-Pacific since 2009. He was a Visiting Professor at the Advanced Mobility Research Center of the University of Tokyo from 2014. After retirement from those positions in 2022, he assumed the Representative Director of Mobility Innovation Alliance Japan, to facilitate collaboration across the academic disciplines, industrial sectors and jurisdiction.

科学技術・イノベーション推進事務局 参事官(重要課題担当)Hiroaki Kimura is responsible for the advancement of research and development projects on Automated Driving for Universal Service, a theme of Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Project, in Cabinet Office of Japan. Before joining Cabinet Office, he formulated radio spectrum policies, such as radio station licensing for government institutions, enhancement of radio spectrum monitoring, international spectrum coordination and harmonization of terrestrial broadcasting technologies, in Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

トヨタ自動車株式会社 先進技術開発カンパニー FellowMr. Seigo Kuzumaki was appointed Program Director for SIP Automated Driving Systems in 2016. He received his Ph. M. in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Kyoto in 1985. In his career at Toyota Corporation, he has had a leading role in strengthening vehicle safety performance since 2003. He was appointed Executive General Manager, Advanced R&D and Engineering Company in 2017 and assumed his current post in 2019.

Steven Shladover

The United States of AmericaDr. Steven Shladover has been working on development and assessment of driving automation systems for fifty years. After ten years at MIT, he worked eleven years in Silicon Valley and 28 years at the California PATH Program of the University of California, Berkeley. He has led projects developing and testing automation systems for light and heavy duty vehicles, simulating the transportation system impacts of large-scale deployment of these systems, and working on the related policy and regulatory challenges. He chaired the TRB committees on ITS and vehicle-highway automation and is active in the development of technical standards at ISO and SAE.

GermanyAria Etemad is Senior Project Manager at Volkswagen Group Innovation in the area of Intelligent Ride and Automated Driving.
Since 2008 he has been Coordinator of several European flagship projects in the field – for instance euroFOT, the first European large-scale field operational test for studying the benefit of ADAS on traffic safety and efficiency; and L3Pilot, a large-scale European pilot for bringing SAE level 3 automated vehicles to European roads.
He currently leads Hi-Drive – another flagship project for making Automated Driving more robust and reliable.
