Profile

Ms. Webster began her current assignment as Minister Counselor for Economic and Science Affairs at U.S. Embassy Tokyo in September 2012. With State, Ms. Webster has worked on a wide range of economic issues, from macroeconomic and microeconomic management to trade policy and negotiations, economic development, and relations with international financial institutions. She served as economic section chief in Hanoi (2010-2012) and San Salvador (2003-2006) and completed prior assignments in Nassau, Mexico City, Tokyo and State’s Economic and East Asia/Pacific bureaus. Ms. Webster has received Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards from the Department and holds a B.A. from Pomona College, an M.B.A. from The American University, and a Masters Degree from the National War College. Her languages are Spanish, Japanese, and Vietnamese. Ms. Webster is a native of California but now makes her home in the Washington, DC area.
